Hello Silver!!
I would have skipped the flinging but I think I read Silver say early in the week she was saving some things to count on Friday. <G> Of course that could have been last week.
I feel asleep about 9pm & am up again. I will go back to bed soon.
I watched the movie Bye, Bye Birdie on tv tonight. I like old movies.
It's supposed to be a little cooler today. |

You're right; I did mention that I was going to save some items for today's Friday Fling. I didn't collect enough to make the number but if I count outdoor things [like picking up clippings that DH left] I'll get there.
Anyone else up for a good old-fashioned Friday Fling? |

This weekend DD and her friend are here.
Next weekend the in -laws are coming
Weekend after that my brother is coming.
Some body must have put a B&B sign on my front door and I didn't see it.
Looks like I'll be doing some cooking. (and cleaning)
We slept with the windows open last night. Haven't been able to do that in awhile.
Yoohoo Marilyn, I just read that there is a new crepe place in Royal OAk.
I think it is called What Crepe? (on 4th street) HAve your kids been there?

I am going blueberry picking with #4 today; we enjoyed what we got last year for many months and need to stock up again.
Hmmm.... 30 things to fling......I'm sure I can find them.
Has anyone watched "Billy the Exterminator" on tv??? We are loving it! _________________ Debbie G. |

I left work without a ride. An interesting experiment.
I walked to the bank, which took about half an hour, so that was likely a mile, mile and a half. I took the bus to one grocery store along my route. I needed something there. I weighed myself, 253, which is pretty good, and met an old friend there, talking to him for quite a while. I really should not have stood there that long but it was fun talking.
I then walked to my other store, bypassing a big curve by cutting through some condos. They were trying to stop people from going through their hedge by putting up fences, but I found a spot to pass.
Even so, that was a mile, mile and a half.
I also walked within that grocery store, getting supplies.
Finally I called a cab to take me the two miles home. I had enough walking for the day.
At most, I walked four miles and last night and this morning, I could tell I had walked that distance.
that I could do it was really something. Walking to the bank would not be a problem for me. Other than being hot and sweaty, I handled the distance with ease, just like back in the old days. I need to practice my walk around the block more as that will toughen me up for longer distances.
My brother was machining the bearing to fit and while I doubt it will happen, I could actually have my truck this weekend. I tall depends on his schedule with work.
whole chicken thighs come in ten pound bags at fifty three cents a pound. Miscut wings are at ninety eight cents a pound. I found out that curry cut chicken, which is where they hack up the whole chicken, is eighty nine cents a pound.
the thighs are really too big for me. I cook them but it is sometimes a lot of chicken. I had never cared for breast meat unless it was battered or as some fillet.
I found out that when I bread the curry cut chicken, the breast meat is as juicy as the dark meat. I picked up two packages when I went to the grocery store and battered up all of that, froze one package and cooked up the other. It is a lot of chicken for me, but it is good even cold.
The other day, I decided to make my own bread crumbs and was thinking it needed to be soaked in olive oil. the bread I used was multi grain. Well it clumped together a bit and is grainy. I added regular bread crumbs and now it is pretty good. It is still not as fine as regular bread crumbs but now will stick to the meat.
Stuck at home, I get to look at the projects I need to work on while I am doing something else......... _________________ Roger Stegman

Good morning all.
It is hot again today. No surprise for down here. Roger, how did you manage all that walking in such heat! That is why DH walks earlier in the day. He does 4.5 miles and comes home dripping.
Chris, the kids have not mentioned the new crepe place. It would be my DDIL who would try it first. She and her best friend have dinner together once a week.,...no DH's ...... just girl talk. I will have to ask her. Maybe we should meet there for lunch one day when I am up in MI at the end of August to the beginning of Sept. I know you will be busy on the weekends but maybe we can meet during the week, if you can spare the time.
DH and I have some errands to run today. Other than that, just routine stuff, today.
I finished the knitting on the sweater that I was making. The construction process is a bit convoluted but I will have to take my time with it an get it done. I have never seen sleeves set into a garment this way. Oh well, it will be worth it. _________________ Marilyn |

Roger, that is a LOT of walking !! Glad you were able to do it. When I made bread crumbs, I laid the bread out to dry & then ground it up in a blender. Toaster racks make a good place to lay the bread to dry out. You can do it with fresh bread too.
Chris, good luck with all your guests. Our neighbors who moved to NC said the same thing... revolving door of guests/family. Everyone wants to go to the beach.
DebbieG.. good luck with the blueberry picking. I have never done that.. only black & raspberries.
Marilyn, congrats on finishing the sweater. Good luck w/errands.
Silver, you can definitely count the outdoor stuff w/flinging. Sorry the top was a wadder. I'm glad you can call it quits & let it go.
What a night I had! Finally went to sleep at 6am. awake off & on till 11:30am. Hope I can get straightened out tonight. Off to fling what I can. |

Well, dd and I had identical buckets; we both had them filled to the same level and she had 1 1/2 lb. more than me!!! We even
re-weighed them here at home. It was a good day.... cloud cover, a breeze and not too hot.. perfect!!!
Silver, We LOVE watching BILLY... he is hilarious. Dh thinks they should have a show showing him getting all his gear on. I think they should get
Ricky some vitamins or something.... _________________ Debbie G. |
