Just finished a couple of books about adoption - both true.

The Mistress's Daughter by A. M. Homes was a true memoir of an adoptee's search for her birth parents - quite good.
Without a Map by Meredith Hall was a very sad account of an unmarried teenager becoming pregnant, having to give up her baby and being ostracized by her family. Much food for thought about family relationships. Though heartbreaking, I enjoyed it very much.

so many books..........so little time.

Has anyone read Innocent by Scott Turow? I just finished it, it is a sequel to Presumed Innocent 20 years later. While reading the first novel gives insight into the characters in the new novel, it is not necessary for continuity to read it before reading Innocent. I dare you to figure out the ending in Innocent...just a huge surprise, just the kind of book I like.

This is a crime/courtroom novel...good characters, interesting dymanics between them. So I recommend Innocent by Scott Turow.

Why don't we have a movie forum? Or do we?

Aloha, Linda

I had read Presumed Innocent quite awhile ago and liked it. Will add Innocent to my to-read list. I like courtroom dramas.

I just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was quite depressing and sad at times. About a young girl living in Germany during WWII.

Has anybody read Little, Big by John Crowley? Indy? I have seen it recommended several times but am finding it very difficult to get into. Wondering if it's worth it to keep trying (it's a big 600 pager).

Although for reasons that are explained elsewhere, I have not had as much time for pleasure reading as I would like Sad , I am in the beginning of Stone of Tears, Book Two of the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.
