Hi.. one of the gals on the Home Management BB is having trouble getting to the BB. I sent her www.xprodigy.net and then www.xprodigy.net/board/index/php. she says neither get her here. I have written back & asked what she does get. I'm guessing an ERROR PAGE.
Can you give me some possible reasons? It would have to be some setting on her computer wouldn't it? Makes no sense to me. One day everything was ok & the next she couldn't get here. |

Possible reasons?
Something in memory could be messed up - if it's this, rebooting would clear it.
A cookie could be messed up - if that, delete the offending cookie.
If the browser is set to go through a proxy, see if that's the problem. |

www.xprodigy.net/board/index/php.
index/php should be index.php
(index.php is a default name and may be omitted.) _________________ TN Geezer |

Thanks Buford. I'll check what I sent her /php or .php. I did also send it without the php.
She says she gets a blue spinning circle & it won't load the page. She gets other websites & so does her dh. She can do email. That is why she wrote & asked if the BB was down.
I sent her Henry's suggestions. Also told her to turn the computer clear off & start over. That helps me clear up a lot of problems! LOL! |

Tell her to try clearing Cache and Cookies in her browser to see if that helps. _________________ Bob Bainbridge |

| She went to a friends house & used her computer. She could get here but then the site wouldn't recognize her password. I sent an email to Bill over the weekend. Not sure if there is anything he can do? She hasn't heard from him so probably not. |

That's true Nan. And if you used the email function in Bill's profile, he won't get it. I think I saw in the admin section that email through the forum is turned off. I can reset her password but I can't see what it is now. If you will send me her name in a private message; I will do that. _________________

| I received the email from Nan a few days ago, reset the password, and emailed the user with the new password. I'm not at the computer where I sent the email, but as soon as I can check to make sure it got sent to the correct address, but I never received a non-deliverable message back. |

Thanks. I will copy & send this to her. I cc'd her on that email Bill so if you used that email... that is the correct one.
She is scared to empty her cache. She was getting a blue spinning circle when she typed in this address. Nothing would load. But, when she went to her friends house she could get here but like I said... couldn't post. |

| I checked that I sent to her correct email address on 9 July, and forwarded it again today. Because I reset her password, she needs to use that new password to login; she can't login with her old password. She can change her password after she logs in. |
