My dishwasher is in "Lock" mode and I can't turn the feature off. The mannual says to press and hold the button for 4 secs [mine takes 12 secs]. The light does go off but as soon as I release my finger, the light promptly comes bach on.
Any suggestions? |

silver you could go to the garden web site and post your question under appliances. The people there are very helpful.

Chris, I went to the site you suggested but I don't want to buy a new dishwasher; I just want to ask a 'fix-it' question. Maybe I didn't navigate correctly????????????? |

Silver if you read the top part of the page it says that the forum is for buying and repairing appliances.
I have seen all kid of questions there. But don't post if you are not comfortable.
They are usually friendly and helpful people. |

Silver, this is the same problem Carol had with her front loading washer. The door won't work right. They finally had to buy a new motherboard. Still doesn't work. She is getting a new washer.
Have you had Mr. Fixit man come out? It could be the door switch or the motherboard. You could put "Kenmore dishwasher door problem" or something like that in Google. It is amazing what google will find for you!
I have not had good service from Sears so haven't bought from them in years. |

CllutterNan, I have usually had good performance wth Sears products [as opposed to GE ]
Mr. Dishwasher repairman has replaced the little computer in the door recenty and all was working well until this morning. Apparantly, I've locked myself out and cannot un-do whatever it was that I did.
I'll call him again tomorrow and, also, in the meantime I'll explore te site that Chris recommended. I guess I didn't dig deep enough. |

Did you see Charlie's recall on GE front washers? <G>
Hope you have some luck on the website. When my oven wiring or brain malfunctioned it locked the door as on "clean". It turned itself ON and that was the scarey part. If we hadn't been home it would have burnt the hosue down. It was Amana. |

Buford, I explored the site you suggested and from what I read, the 'user interface board' must be bad and needs replacement.
Thanks, everyone for your interest and help. |

Chris, nope; it means that DH is doing the dishes by hand. Actually he doesn't mind, at all. Dishwashing is one of his three favorite things to do in the house--the other two are vaccuuming and chopping.
Buford, I felt so "informed" when Mr. Dishwasher Repairman came yesterday. I told him what I thought was needed and he quickly agreed.
I love this BB. |

Silver could I borrow your DH? I have a couple of vacuums that he could choose from. |
